3rd March 2020
Frankfurt, February 2020 – Gazeley, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, today announces plans for the Bremen South Logistics Centre, a new 250,000 SQ M development spanning four warehouses in Großkneten, Lower Saxony.
The development will span a total of four buildings, which will be built over the next few years. Construction will be to DGNB Gold standard and will feature dock levellers and level access doors. Units will be available to rent from approximately 10,000 SQ M upwards. The logistics centre is being marketed by real estate consultancy firms Robert C. Spies and BNP Paribas Real Estate.
The development will be located in north-western Lower Saxony in the District of Oldenburg, close to the Ahlhorner Heide motorway intersection (A1/A29), strengthening Gazeley’s presence in northern Germany. Customers will benefit from its excellent connectivity, with access to the A1 and A29 as well as NordWestBahn’s Osnabrück-Oldenburg-Wilhelmshaven rail service.
Ingo Steves, Managing Director, Northern Europe, Gazeley, said: “Thanks to its strategic location between Oldenburg, Bremen and Cloppenburg, the Bremen South Logistics Centre represents a prime opportunity for companies seeking to re-locate. Furthermore, the development offers versatile build-to-suit space and state-of-the-art facilities, making it ideal, for example, for the flexible realisation of property developments for logistics, production and light industry at short notice.”
Logistics real estate specialists Stefan Fath from Robert C. Spies and Oliver Szymanski from BNP Paribas Real Estate said: “The logistics centre has enormous potential since it is able to accommodate exceptionally large developments through its flexibility in design. In light of the current lack of available warehouse space, it is a unique proposition in the Nordwest region.”
Thorsten Schmidtke, mayor of Großkneten, said: “We are delighted to have found a reliable partner in Gazeley and to be able to lay the foundations for economic growth in our region. The process of securing approval from the necessary authorities and all involved parties has so far gone smoothly. Now that planning permission has also been granted, nothing stands in the way of our continued successful collaboration.”
